It is with deep sorrow that the family shares the unexpected loss of Kenneth Michael Allard on Sunday Aug. 10, 2025 at the age of 70.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Sarah (nee Trumbla) Allard, along with his infant grandson Dylan Wall. He is survived by his children and their families: Lisa (Sheldon) Wall, Stacie (David) Cwiak, Jonathan (Jena) Allard; grandchildren Riley, Alexa, Talia, Parker, Brooklynn, and Owen; his brother Gary (Alicja), nieces Michelle (Dan) and Nicole (James); former spouse Laura Allard; many cousins across Canada; and the mother of his children, Catherine Allard.
Dad cherished his family and was looking forward to welcoming another grandbaby in Sept. 2025.
Ken was the eldest of two brothers and spent his childhood in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface and Riverview neighborhoods. He attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic School, where he served as an altar boy at Holy Cross Parish.
He also enjoyed time at the family farm in Lido Plage with numerous relatives and cousins, especially Luc Allard. Many road trips were taken with his cousin Roy Zastre. As a teen, Ken worked for his Uncle Carl at BEM TV, delivering TVs to relatives while bonding with cousin Keith Trumbla.
Dad had a love for music and played guitar. In his early 20s he taught guitar lessons and often reminisced about those times. He shared a special bond with Gary through their love of The Beatles, playing those songs together brought them closer. Dad always dreamed of retiring to teach guitar again someday.
He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1987 and worked as a certified general accountant for nearly three decades with Veterans Affairs Canada.
From 2006-2010 he briefly lived in British Columbia where he worked in Vancouver with Procurement Canada. He bought a boat there which let him experience life along the coast. Dad had always loved being at the lake where he spent many days sailing and water skiing during his youth.
He retired from accounting in 2018.
Eventually Dad moved back to Manitoba to be near his growing family. He settled just north of Winnipeg taking on a part-time job at a car dealership that fueled his lifelong passion for classic cars. His favorite was a Ford Mustang. He also enjoyed working at Vidir in Teulon where he particularly appreciated spending time with Henry Friesen.
Dad witnessed all three of his children marry and start their own families. His grandchildren meant everything to him; he loved them deeply. He was also grateful for the strong relationship he had with Gary.
Through music’s healing power, Dad reconnected with his faith. He prayed every day knowing he’s now watching over us from heaven alongside Jesus.
Dad, this goodbye came too soon leaving so much unsaid between us. We’ll meet again one day but until then we’ll hold dear all our memories together. Your spirit is at peace now flying among angels.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday September 2, 2025 at 11:00 a. m., held at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Selkirk, Manitoba followed by a luncheon in the Church Hall.
Psalms 4:8:
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
