Police Arrest Impaired Drivers

During Week 3 of the 2025 Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign, Perth County OPP charged five drivers with impaired driving. One additional driver received a warn-range suspension.

As of Dec. 4, West Region OPP officers conducted 1,533 RIDE checks across 13 detachments including Perth County. They laid down 143 impaired driving charges and issued 21 warn-range suspensions during the first three weeks of this annual enforcement and education initiative.

On a provincial level, OPP officers filed 602 impaired driving charges along with 65 warn-range suspensions amidst conducting 5,428 RIDE checks by Dec.4.

This year’s OPP Festive RIDE Campaign runs from Nov.20 to Jan.1. Throughout this time frame, members of the public can expect an increased police presence on roads and highways in West Region as officers engage in RIDE initiatives around the clock every day of the week.

If you suspect someone is driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, it’s crucial to call 911 right away to report it.
