There are many school bus cancellations outside of Ottawa on Friday following Thursday’s snowfall.
All buses are cancelled under Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO) and Consortium de transport scolaire de l’est (CTSE), covering most of the Tri-Board area and in the Madawaska region of Renfrew County.
The French Consortium de transport scolaire d’Ottawa (CTSO) has also cancelled buses for Kingston, Brockville, Carleton Place, Kemptville, Merrickville, Marionville and Prescott & Russell.
Buses are still running in other parts of the area. Some agencies are cautioning about possible delays.
Generally, schools remain open when buses are cancelled. It’s a good idea to check with your school or board for information on what happens when there’s no bus service.
The Ottawa International Airport weather station recorded 21 centimetres of snow on Thursday while most of the region was under a snowfall warning and all eastern Ontario buses were cancelled.
Trenton reported 20 centimetres. Other weather stations have not yet released snowfall totals.
