We are heartbroken to share that Gary John Hooper passed away at the age of 81 on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025 at 2:45 am. He was born on November 25th, 1943 in Windsor, Ontario and enjoyed a long career in Management at Chrysler Motor Company before retiring.
Gary was the son of Carl Hooper and Mary “Mamie” (nee Warren) Hooper. He was a caring brother to Carol Hooper and the late Edward “Eddie” Hooper. Above all, he was a devoted father to his two children, son Gary Hooper and daughter Stacey Hooper. They were the joy of his life, and he took an active role in their lives, cheering them on at their bowling games, baseball matches, and various sporting events.
Gary was also well-known for his bowling skills around the city and had a talent for cribbage, darts, and pool during his younger days. In later years, he cherished spending time with his kids playing cards, watching sports together, and visiting with his furry grandchildren. We find comfort knowing he will be reunited with his loving parents, late brother, special friends Bradley, Charlie, Kane; and his best friend Zeke. As someone who adored animals deeply, we kindly request any donations be made to a local animal organization like Second Chance Animal Rescue or one of your choice in his honor.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell (11677 Tecumseh Rd East, Windsor, ON) on Sunday July 27th, 2025 from 3 pm-5 pm and again from 7 pm-9 pm. The Funeral Service along with prayers will occur at 10 am on Monday July 28th, 2025 prior to transfer to Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave., Windsor ON). A Life Celebration will follow at Riverside Sportsman Club (10835 Riverside Dr E., Windsor ON).
