Royce Hall peacefully passed away on December 15, 2025, after a brief stay at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home.
Born on October 30, 1941, to Benjamin Hall and Letitia (Nee Whyte) Hall, Royce was a source of pride for his family. He often shared stories about his short time in the Canadian Navy, visiting distant places like China, and being part of the Canadian Legion. He worked as a hospital orderly in Winnipeg where he met Eunice Gieb. They got married on May 22, 1965, and welcomed three children a few years later. Royce then joined Canada Post and moved his family to Stony Mountain, where Eunice still resides today.
Later on, Royce returned to Dauphin and married Betsy Toews. They lived in Dauphin until a few years ago when they relocated to Newdale. After Betsy’s passing, Royce continued living in Newdale until health issues required him to seek personal care.
Royce is survived by his three children: Renea (Stan) Engen from Dauphin, Dannielle Hall from Stony Mountain, and Randy Hall from Winnipeg. He also leaves behind grandchildren Sarah (Derek) Weigelt of Everett, Washington; Sharla (Jayme) Griffiths of Mc Lean, Saskatchewan; Jeannie Hall of Stony Mountain; Heidi Hall; Wendy Hall; Jackson Hall of Winnipeg; along with two great-grandchildren and extended family including stepchildren Wendy, Carmen, Sandi their husbands and friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home for the compassion shown to Royce during his final days. Thanks also go out to friends and family who provided support during that time.
