Obituary of Adelmo Giampuzzi

Surrounded by love, Adelmo, a devoted husband, father, Nonno and Bis Nonno passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. He was a loving husband to Avelina and a proud father to Danilo and Marie (2005), Nadia and Robert (Plackmann) and Vladio and Maria. He was cherished as Nonno to Paul, Peter, Marc, Andrea, Anita, Eric and Alexa. He also took pride in being Bis Nonno to Giorgio, Luca and Gabriel. He was predeceased by his parents Vladimiro (1986) and Emilia (Zubin) (2009). Adelmo was an adored brother of Aldo (2009), brother-in-law to Maria, Zio to Cristina Toniolo and a great uncle to Gianluca.

Born in Pola, Istria, Italy Adel came to Canada in 1951 where he met his future wife Avelina; they were married for 68 wonderful years. They set the standard for love and commitment for their children and grandchildren. Through hard work, determination, love and stories from his travels between Italy and Canada, Adelmo inspired his family. His strong work ethic will continue through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adelmo earned respect as a leader in the Tool and Die industry while rising to the role of plant manager. With his problem-solving skills at hand, he made sure every challenge was addressed thoroughly so that each project reached the highest quality standards.

A friend to many throughout his 94 years, Adel lent a helping hand to anyone who asked or even those who didn’t ask. He was skilled in many areas including being a self-taught stained-glass artist. One of his favorite hobbies was repairing clocks of all kinds with a particular fondness for the 400-day clock. He shared these talents as expressions of friendship.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 11am-1pm followed by a chapel service starting at 1pm. The family will have a private farewell at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers or gifts as an expression of sympathy you may consider making memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the doctors involved in his care especially Dr. John Coates along with the nursing team at the Dialysis Clinic and nurses at Malden Park Continuing Care on the 3 South unit. Online condolences along with cherished memories can be shared with Adelmo’s family at www. windsorchapel.
