Cavan, ON – The 32nd annual Autumn Colours Classic had an exciting lineup of touring series finales and special races to wrap up the season at Peterborough Speedway. Even with some rain during the day on Saturday, all divisions managed to finish their feature events by Sunday evening, with a bustling campground and overflow pit areas welcoming back the event often referred to as the ‘Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing.’
Here’s a quick look at this year’s feature winners, along with our video interviews from the weekend.
Autumn Colours Race Winners
Electric City 167: Jake Sheridan
The Pro Late Model feature was the main attraction at the Autumn Colours Classic on Sunday afternoon. The name ‘Electric City’ comes from Peterborough being Canada’s first municipality to use electric street lights back in 1884, while ‘167 laps’ honors when the track first opened its doors in 1967.
The initial half of the race saw numerous cautions due to on-track incidents, but things heated up in the latter half with various challengers pushing toward the front. Ultimately, Jake Sheridan led from start to finish and secured his first victory in this event, followed by Rick Spencer-Walt, Dale Shaw, Dan Mc Hattie and Gord Shepherd making up the top five.
Ontario Legend Car Series (40 laps): Mitch Wright
Mitch Wright dominated for most of this race to win the Ontario Legend Car Series feature for a second consecutive year at Autumn Colours. Although he fell short in defending his series title, he still celebrated his fifth victory of the season in front of a crowd of supporters, with his family business B& G Towing and Recovery sponsoring this year’s event.
OSCAAR Hot Rods (40 laps): Tyler Hawn
Tyler Hawn fought closely with Tom Walters early on before pulling ahead during a late restart to take home the win. Hawn had already clinched his series championship at Delaware Speedway earlier this season.
OSCAAR Modifieds (50 laps): Amanda Balson
Amanda Balson achieved her first-ever victory at Autumn Colours during her inaugural season racing Modifieds. She held off Max Beyore and TJ Edwards for her win.
*Note: Although Balson was later disqualified, she is still regarded as the winner by Max Beyore. More details are available in Balson’s post here. We’ll provide a link to the penalty report once it is ready.
Outlaw Midgets (25 laps): Robin Mc Lean
Robin Mc Lean took charge late in this race against Mike Bradley to claim his third win at Peterborough this season and also marked his second triumph at Autumn Colours. Bradley and Mikey Homewood finished just behind him on the podium.
Super Stocks (50 laps): Shawn Chenoweth
Shawn Chenoweth also competed in the Pro Late Model race but came out on top here against Daniel Hawn, who led early on. The top four competitors-Marlie Owen and Lane Zardo included-were involved in some tight battles during several restarts.
Ontario Bandoleros (20 laps): Landon Sellers
This race was initially set for two separate 15-lap features but ended up being one combined 20-lap event Saturday night due to schedule changes after rain delays. This event awarded double points and saw Landon Sellers taking home victory while claiming first place for their inaugural series championship.

Junior Late Models (20 laps): Josh Davenport
