With heavy hearts, the family shares the news of Shane Prutchick’s passing on September 13, 2025, at the age of 41.

He was a loving husband and soulmate to Stephanie Mc Dowell. A devoted father and superhero to Chloe, and a beloved stepfather to Lindsay and Megan Phillips. He was a treasured son of Tim and Jody Prutchick, as well as a brother and best friend to Mike Prutchick.

Shane was also a precious grandson of the late Leo and Leah Marion, George Prutchick and Flora Gauthier, Maria and Louis Zagar, and William and Donna Mc Dowell. He was the son-in-law of Ken Mc Dowell and France Champoux, along with Ann Brenton (Mc Dowell) and Fred Brenton. As a brother-in-law to Michael Mc Dowell, he was a caring uncle to Leah. Shane will be greatly missed by many surviving family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers.

The family expresses gratitude to first responders, bystanders, police officers, and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus – Trauma Unit, OR, ICU, and the 6th Floor for their exceptional care during this difficult time.

Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) located at 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Friday, September 19th from 10am until the Memorial Service begins at 12pm.

Since Shane wasn’t fond of dressing up at all, let’s honor that by keeping it casual; feel free to wear your favorite Metallica or Rock Band t-shirt proudly during the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Go Fund Me: Tecumseh Rd. Fiery Crash” in support of the family. You can share online condolences or cherished memories with the family at www. windsorchapel. com
