TODAY’S MATCHUP

The Maple Leafs are up against the Minnesota Wild

tonight at Grand Casino Arena in the second of two games

between the teams this season. Toronto lost their first encounter

with Minnesota 6-3 on January 19th at

Scotiabank Arena. The team has a record of 11-16-5 on the

road this season. The Maple Leafs are playing their second

game of a back-to-back tonight. So far, they have a record of

4-6-1 in the second game of a back-to-back this season.

LAST GAME

The Maple Leafs fell 3-2 in a shootout against the Buffalo

Sabres on Saturday night at Key Bank Center. Dakota Joshua

and Max Domi each found the net for Toronto. Domi played in

his 800th NHL game. Nicholas Robertson provided the only assist

on Joshua’s goal, marking his 15th assist of the season. With that assist, Robertson reached his

28th point this season (13G, 15A) and set a new personal best for points in a single season (previously set in 2023-24). William

Nylander recorded the primary assist on Domi’s goal, achieving his 40th assist of the season. Nylander has now reached this milestone for five seasons in his NHL career.

This extends Nylander’s current point streak to eight games, during which he has tallied nine points (5G, 4A). Joseph Woll saved

31 out of 33 shots he faced during Saturday’s shootout loss.
