Peel police are asking for help from the community to find a man linked to an alleged hate-motivated attack in Mississauga.
A woman was approached by an unknown man while she was walking on Mississauga Valley Boulevard on Dec. 3 around 3:30 p. m., according to Peel Regional Police in a news release.
The man reportedly shouted at her, forcefully took off her hijab and jacket hood, and then pushed her down before running away into a nearby wooded area, police said.
The woman did not suffer any physical injuries during this incident.
The suspect is described as tall and heavyset, wearing a black hoodie along with other dark clothing.
Authorities are urging residents to be careful when walking alone and to report any suspicious activity they notice.
