Ice rain is forecasted for parts of southern Ontario on Tuesday.
Environment Canada has released a special weather statement that covers areas from Windsor to parts of the Greater Toronto Area.
Locations such as London, Hamilton, and the Niagara Region are included in this statement.
According to Environment Canada, “several hours of freezing rain” could occur on Tuesday, with potential ice accumulation ranging from 1 to 2 mm.
This weather event is expected to start in the morning and wrap up by the afternoon.
“Freezing rain, which may be mixed with snow or ice pellets at times, is expected to change over to rain as temperatures rise above the freezing mark,” the statement said.
“Areas along the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario shorelines may see very little ice accretion or build up.”
The weather agency noted that roads and walkways might become slippery, cautioning that icy surfaces could be hard to notice.
Local power outages might also happen, according to forecasters.
