Fraser Dunsford Murdoch passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. With his 4 daughters by his side, Fraser took a last gentle breath on Boxing Day in his own home-just as he wished to.
Born in Perth, Scotland, Fraser moved to Canada with his loving parents Winnie and Andrew, along with his sister Muriel. Soon after that, Blair was born and their family was complete. At a young age, Fraser started his own family with his wife Connie. While he worked for the Ministry of Transportation for 30 years, being a dad was truly where he found his purpose. He provided guidance, support, nurture, and love to both his children and grandchildren in such a profound way that this will always be part of who he was.
From pneumonia on the ship from Scotland to various health issues and a serious workplace injury, Dad spent much of his life battling to stay healthy and avoid infection. So, with the full respect and cooperation of his family, he felt it was time to rest after all those years of fighting. For 12 days, his family gathered around him at home supporting him through those final moments.
Fraser is survived by daughters Michelle (Paul), Jodi (Gilles), Tricia (Darren), and Jaime; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sebastian (Takwana, Nahla, Nevanji and Arlo-Blue), Zachary (Megan), Rowan, Krista (Kaitlin), Evan (Nicole), Sydney, Jacob (Presley), and Joshua; dear siblings Muriel and Blair along with their families; as well as son Keith whom Dad had the blessing of meeting later in life. His longtime best friend Brian and family also share in this loss. Fraser was predeceased by parents Andrew and Winnie along with granddaughter Abby who will forever hold a place in his heart.
Fraser’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone who cared for him over the years but especially Brett from VON for all the hard work put into keeping Dad healthy while always offering kind words during the past 18 months. They also extend heartfelt thanks to Janna from VON for her outstanding care during Dad’s final days.
While Dad loved deeply and was there for everyone without asking for anything back in return. In line with what he wanted there won’t be any formal service celebrating his life. We encourage those wishing to honor Fraser by enjoying good food together, hunting for great deals out there or showing unconditional love toward your children and grandchildren-these were some things that made him happiest. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Rowan Tree Collective which is an organization close to Dad’s heart rooted in kindness named after his grandson. www. rowantreecollective. ca
“I’m always just a thought away.” Dad said during his final days.
