We are heartbroken to share that Kathleen Anne Upton, affectionately known as Kathie or Kate, has passed away. She left us on May 19th, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by her loving children after a short fight with Ovarian Cancer.

Kathleen was a devoted mother and will be missed dearly by her children Kallie (Brody) and Daniel (Charlene). As a caring sister, she looked after her brother William who has Alzheimer’s. Her family and friends will feel her absence deeply. Kathleen was truly a bright light in the lives of everyone she met. Her love, kindness, strength, and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.

Kathleen built many friendships during her time at Air Canada. She took great pride in her work and was always ready to help others. She also enjoyed bowling with the ACRA Bowling club.

A true animal lover, Kathleen delighted in watching the wildlife from her home by the water in Lancaster where she moved permanently in April last year. Over the years, she had numerous pets that she fostered and adopted with great care.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date on West Island in Montreal, QC.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ottawa General Hospital and May Court Hospice for their exceptional care during these last few months. Kathleen was incredibly grateful for all those who supported her through her final journey, ‘the last waltz’.

Memorial donations can be made in Kathleen Upton’s name to May Court Hospice via their website: https://www. hospicecareottawa. ca/donate/
