We are heartbroken to share that Tracy Lynn Breen passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2025.
Tracy was born on May 21, 1971, in Antigonish to Marion and her late father Gilbert De Coste. She lived in New Glasgow and is survived by her husband Mark, daughter Hannah-Jane (Rob), and grandson Sebastian, all of New Glasgow. She also leaves behind her brother Christopher (Crystal) and godson Gavin from Sundre, Alberta; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tracy was preceded in death by her father Gilbert, maternal grandparents Boniface and Irene Breen, paternal grandparents Sylvester and Lillian De Coste, cousin Brandon, and several aunts and uncles.
A gentle spirit with a big heart, Tracy was always ready to lend a helping hand. She began her career at L’Arche in Cape Breton before working for HCRS for over thirty years, then with the Nova Scotia Housing Authority. Loved by everyone she met, Tracy enjoyed traveling with friends, reading books, sharing stories, having BBQs, and spending precious moments with her family-especially the joy of her life, grandson Sebastian.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Rachael and Rob for their help during this time as well as Const. David Fulton for his support. Tracy will be greatly missed by all her family members, friends, and coworkers.
Friends may visit the family from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, August 19th at 11:00 AM at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church in Westville. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Parish Cemetery in Havre Boucher. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Special Olympics Pictou County or Holy Name CWL.
