Our dear mother has passed away. Patricia Brode (Dame) 1925-2025. November 07, 1925 – September 06, 2025. After a long life of one hundred years, she was surrounded by her loving family, including her parents Harry and Anna Dame, and her brothers Leonard and Theodore, as well as sisters Theresa, Kathleen, and Bernadette-all of whom have passed on. Patricia then built a wonderful family with Joseph A. Brode (1976). Her children include Cheryl(Sherry) Thomson (Mike 2024), Donna De Marco(Frank), Janice Mc Clelland (Andrew), Kevin Brode (Nancy), and Karen (2015). Grams/Great Grames will be greatly missed by grandchildren Christopher, Kathryn, Ian, Erin, Joey, Jeffery, Frank, Andrew, Kristen along with their spouses Kristy, Tina, Lana, Melissa, Angela and Rob; plus great-grandchildren Jonah, Grayson, Janosch, Lucia, Edda, Dylan, Kyle, Nathen, Brayden, Hailee, Raymond, Hunter, Fisher , Amelia and Elio. Many cousins and numerous nieces and nephews are also left behind.
Pat always encouraged her family in everything they pursued. We deeply miss her love and support. She maintained an active lifestyle after retiring from her position as manager at Penningtons in Tecumseh Mall by going to the gym four days a week. She was a regular at any local spot that had music and good times until just a few years ago. She traveled to Australia , Italy , Greece , Ireland , Hawaii , Mexico , enjoyed family cruises and Florida vacations too. Pat supported children’s recitals and sporting events for her kids first then for grandkids then great-grandkids as well. A devoted Catholic who regularly attended Mass along with church activities in later years with sister Bernie and friends-where the parish priest fondly called them the Golden Girls-she found joy in coffee gatherings, music especially swing and big band tunes along with all the dance moves that go along with it. Bingo nights at the casino were other favorites as were attending musical theatre shows or watching tennis matches. It’s tough to say goodbye but we’ll cherish the life lessons she gave us along with all those wonderful memories that remind us of how lucky we were to have her presence on this earth for so many years. We will continue fulfilling dreams she had for us while striving to live lives full of kindness like she did every day-a life filled with love for people , fun spirit and faith.
