It’s the perfect time for festive fun! If you want to fill your schedule with joy and cheer, you’re in the right spot. From holiday farm activities to tree lighting events, merry markets, and more, Durham Region is brimming with ways to celebrate this season!

November 1 to December 23 | Santa’s Cottage, Oshawa (4405 Ritson Road North, Oshawa)

Have a personalized visit with Santa just for your family at Santa’s Cottage in Oshawa! This year, Mrs. Claus has opened her cottage for family photos and baking fun! Jingle Mingle visits are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout November and December. You can meet Santa in his official North Pole office where all the magic happens! All visits include a stop at the outdoor gallery or you can choose to buy that experience separately. The outdoor gallery features many fantastic photo spots among the beautiful grounds of Santa’s Cottage. The Christmas Barn Market runs Fridays through Sundays from November 1 to December 23, and there’s no ticket needed for entry.

November 14 | Downtown Oshawa (City Hall to Memorial Park and Centre Street to John Street)

Join the City of Oshawa as they kick off the holiday festivities at the Bright and Merry Market in downtown Oshawa! Explore a holiday market full of seasonal displays, live performances, street entertainers, and a holiday trolley. Wrap up your visit by taking a picture with Santa right before the tree lighting at 8 p. m. This event is free for everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items as donations for Feed the Need in Durham; donation bins will be available at City Hall, The Robert Mc Laughlin Gallery, and Oshawa Public Libraries – Mc Laughlin Branch during the event.

Downtown Whitby Christmas Market

November 14 and 15 | Celebration Square, Whitby

Come join Downtown Whitby BIA for two days filled with festive activities at their seventh annual Downtown Whitby Christmas Market! Check out an outdoor market featuring unique gifts, crafts, and holiday must-haves from local shops and vendors. Enjoy delicious food from various food trucks while catching live performances or hop onto the trolley for a fun ride around the event-great for kids and adults alike! There’ll also be carolers, free children’s activities like pictures with Santa along with magical characters joining in on all the fun. It’s free to attend this festive gathering-a wonderful chance for families and friends to come together.

Santa Claus Parades

November 15 to December 13 | Locations across Durham Region

Santa Claus is making his rounds! Bundle up warmly as you enjoy one of his many visits across Durham Region this season. There’s a full schedule of parades ready to spread some festive cheer around town-visitors can also help support local businesses by stopping into shops along parade routes after enjoying these beloved traditions filled with lively processions.

Leaskdale Loop Christmas Crawl

November 15 and 16 | Leaskdale Loop, Uxbridge

Get ready for some Christmas spirit with a self-guided driving tour along Leaskdale Loop Christmas Crawl! Featuring several small businesses along historical sites within just ten minutes apart from each other-there’s art pieces on display as well as woodworking creations alongside baked goods like maple syrup or cider waiting for you here too! Take advantage of shopping opportunities offered by local artisans between hours varying from location open times ranging between10 a. m.-5 p. m., or visit our historical sites if you prefer not missing out altogether on Tindall Farm Market hosting another round of its Christmas Markets happening again over weekend dates set aside on December sixth & seventh.

Beaver River Christmas Market Days

November 15 and December 6 | Beaverton Thorah Eldon Historical Society, Beaverton
