Peterborough County OPP have taken two people into custody for assault following an investigation into a call about intimate partner violence. On December 12, 2025, the police received a report regarding an assault that occurred at a home in Peterborough County. The caller mentioned that an argument escalated into a physical fight, during which an adult child intervened and ended up injuring one of the individuals involved. Officers arrived at the location and talked to everyone present. After collecting information, they concluded that both individuals had committed an assault, leading to their arrests. A 66-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were both arrested and charged with assault.
