WADE CANADA, SR., age 82, of Dandridge, TN, formerly of Ragland, WV, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of Rockhouse Freewill Baptist Church in Ragland, WV. Wade is preceded in death by his mother, Zula Caines Canada; father, Victor Canada; brothers, Ernest, Charles and Jess Canada; sisters, Lola Stewart and Dixie Liebee; and grandson, Bruce Mullins Jr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia; and their nine children: sons Leslie (Butter) and wife Linda; Gary and wife Josephine; Stonie all from Dandridge; Glen Dale and wife Missy from Delbarton, WV; Wade Canada Jr. from Dunlow, WV; Larry from WV; daughters Christine Tipton and husband Johnny from Deltona, FL; Loretta Workman and husband John from Dandridge; Shirley Smith and husband Tom from Senegal, West Africa. Other family members include sisters Mattie Smith Cosrer of Barboursville, WV and Wanda “Winnie” Sellards of Turkey Creek, KY; brother Landon Canada and wife Virginia of Varney, KY. He also leaves behind his 15 grandchildren: Joshua Canada of Delbarton; Leslie Canada of Ohio; Michael Evans of Ragland; Danny Evans of Atlanta GA; Gary Canada Jr. of Lenore WV; Misty Devotie of Jefferson City; Jessica Canada of Ragland; Cassandra Canada of Ragland; Robert Wade Canada of Ragland; Jordan Canada of Logan WV; Kristel Greene of Port Orange FL; Heather Mullins of Dandridge ; Dakota Workman of Dandridge ; Carla Smith of Boling Springs SC ; Nathan Smith of Fort Worth TX ; along with 11 great-grandchildren Kelsie , Kylie , Keegan Jr. of Florida , Bryce , Brayden , Kaylee , Zoe , Ethan , Mikey all from WV ; Dylan from Georgia ; plus one unborn great-grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p. m. on Thursday July 30 ,2009 in the sanctuary at Swanns Chapel Baptist Church located at 1309 Waterfront Drive, Dandridge, TN37725 with Rev. Randy Haun officiating. The family will welcome friends at the church starting at 5:00 until the service begins at 8:00 p. m.
