Police report that a train collided with a dump truck in Markham on Nov. 20, 2025. (Jeff Ducharme/CityNews) GO Transit has resumed its usual train service on the Stouffville line after a train hit a dump truck early Thursday morning. The incident happened on Kennedy Road, situated between Carlton Road and Highway 7. Officers from York Regional Police arrived at the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. According to police, the train struck the rear of the dump truck. Thankfully, the driver didn’t sustain any injuries. A passenger from the affected train informed CityNews that they heard constant honking from the GO train just before it struck the truck. Metrolinx announced that shuttle buses were deployed to help passengers reach the next station and continue their journey. During the police’s investigation, GO trains were unable to operate in that area. Regular services restarted just before noon. “The police investigation near Centennial GO is now complete and trains have returned to regular service with residual delays,” reads an update from Metrolinx.
