Dr. Colin Jones, 81 of Tecumseh, passed away suddenly on November 5, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario and our hearts are forever broken.

Colin was born December 2, 1943 in Llay, North Wales, UK to Mary Elizabeth Bewley and Edmund Ivor Jones.

He married Kathleen Edwards at the Wrexham Parish Church in Wales on June 11, 1966 and they had two daughters, Deborah and Della.

Together the family sailed across the ocean to build a life in Canada. Colin, always an avid learner, earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Psychology) from the University of Western Ontario and then attained a Master of Arts (Psychology) and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Windsor.

He worked as a Child Psychologist and retired from Windsor Regional Hospital.

But total retirement was not in his plans! Colin was also the co-publisher and editor of Biz X magazine (and we know he would have found errors in this obit, but we did the best we could!). He loved to edit articles, design ads, look after the accounting, fix photos and make sure the publication looked amazing.

Colin was an avid fan of Wrexham FC, English football (we can never call it soccer) leagues and F1. He enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and reading (with hundreds of books, records and CDs to prove it).

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Kathleen, his two daughters Deborah (Jack) and Della (Chad), grandson Dylan Colin Jones (his best friend and namesake) and sister Beryl (Alan) Baigent (and their daughters Amanda, Nicola and Krista, their husbands and children).

He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Mary Jones.

Colin (Col, dad, granddad, uncle) was always the rock of the Jones family, he will be dearly missed . . . and never forgotten.

Visitation will be at Windsor Chapel, Banwell Road on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a short service and procession to St. Anne’s Cemetery in Tecumseh, his final resting place.

Pallbearers are Jack Rosenberg, Chad Goulet, Raj Luckhai, Brynley Luckhai, Kieran Luckhai and Nydan Luckhai.

In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to Sleep in Heavenly Peace (shpbeds.ca/chapter/on-windsor), an international organization responding to a real community problem of child bedlessness.

The Jones family would like to acknowledge the support of the medical professionals in the emergency department at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus and all of the doctors and nurses who have looked after Colin over the years.

We would also like to thank all family members and friends for being there for us during this difficult time of losing the greatest husband, father, father-in-law and granddad ever!
