Police said they were called at 1 p.m. Friday to Confederation and Stuart streets, where a frantic woman, 22, not dressed for cold weather, ran to a home saying she’d been kidnapped.

Officers learned two men and a woman, one carrying an axe, had entered the woman’s home earlier in the day, police said.

“There was an interaction within the residence where the (woman) was assaulted and taken to a waiting vehicle driven by a third male. She was held within that vehicle against her will and continued to be assaulted,” police said Sunday.

The woman was eventually released, pushed from the stopped vehicle and ran to a house for help, police said.

Officers found the vehicle and one suspect at a Brock Street home, police said.
