The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Ottawa resident following an obvious case of street rage this previous weekend.

OPP officers with the Lanark County Detachment responded to a site visitors grievance on Saturday, February 8, round 5:45 p.m, wrote Ontario Provincial Police in a information launch.

In keeping with OPP, the automobile was touring on Freeway 7 close to Perth — reportedly driving in a “dangerous manner” resulting in the alleged street rage incident.

Later, the motive force allegedly approached one other driver with a hammer in a car parking zone.

No accidents have been reported, added OPP.

Following an investigation, Sebastien Lavergne, 21, is dealing with charges of assault with a weapon and harmful driving.

The suspect was launched from custody and is scheduled to look in courtroom on March 3, 2025.

Whereas OPP says they haven’t observed a rise in street rage incident this previous 12 months, officers sometimes report harmful driving incidents, wrote Corey Noonan, Group Engagement Officer with Lanark County OPP.

To report poor driving behaviour, name OPP toll-free at 1-888-310-1122 or 9-1-1 if the state of affairs is of an pressing nature.
