Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says his authorities will work to persuade the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump his promised tariffs would have a detrimental impact on each international locations.

A senior authorities official mentioned Tuesday Trudeau spoke with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in regards to the impression the metal tariffs would have in Ohio, which Vance represented within the U.S. Senate.

Trudeau briefly spoke to reporters earlier than a plenary on the summit at which Vance spoke and Trudeau attended.

Trudeau mentioned his authorities would “be working with the American administration over the approaching weeks to focus on the detrimental impacts on People and Canadians of those unacceptable tariffs.”
