The NDP made new election commitments on Monday: imposing tariffs on Tesla electrical autos, bringing again the federal EV rebate and doubling it if customers purchase a Canadian-made plug-in automobile.

NDP Chief Jagmeet Singh is on a campaign-style swing in Canada’s automotive capital and border city: Windsor, Ont.

Singh informed reporters that if Trump follows by way of along with his menace to use a tariff to all Canadian items, a New Democrat federal authorities would slap a 100 per cent commerce tax on all Tesla merchandise.
