He was proudly born and raised on a farm in Shelburne, Ontario, by his dad and mom Hazel and Forbes McFarlane.
Wayne graduated Guelph College as a CPA and was a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Accountants of Ontario and labored a full and profitable profession main Human Assets with PricewaterhouseCoopers for over 30 years. He was additionally a Paul Harris Fellow.
In his retirement, he spent 15 years as Government in Residence at Ryerson’s Ted Rogers College of Administration (now TMU) serving to MBA college students discover their profession paths. This was his lifelong ardour and was acknowledged with the primary Distinguished Skilled Advisor Emeritus awarded to a non-academic at Ryerson College.
Taken too quickly, Wayne was liked by all he met, he was the life and soul in each room, liked folks, liked his household dearly, liked serving to folks – notably college students, & liked an important social gathering along with his buddies at Lora Bay! He was my accomplice in all the things, my confidant, my greatest good friend, – we’ll miss him each day. He was proud to be an important grandpa and liked all issues Tina Turner – Wayne, accomplice, Dad, Grandpa & good friend is Merely the Finest!
Wayne might be missed by his accomplice Michael Armistead, daughter Laura McFarlane Bodell, son-in-law Derron Bodell, grandsons Alex and Forbes McFarlane Bodell, nice granddaughter Lilly Bodell, sister Anne McFarlane, and plenty of fantastic cousins and buddies.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will happen at Lora Bay Clubhouse, a spot close to and pricey to his coronary heart, on Friday, February seventh, 2025 from 2 till 5 p.m., with tributes shared at 3 o’clock.
