The Ontario authorities is investing within the success of Northern Ontario communities and companies by rising its annual funding allocation to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Company (NOHFC) by a further $30 million over the following three years. This sustained funding improve will assist continued financial improvement within the North, together with the enlargement of NOHFC programming eligibility to the District of Muskoka.

“We are listening to our northern partners, which is why we are increasing the annual NOHFC funding allocation and expanding programming eligibility. “Since 2018, we’ve strengthened the NOHFC’s integral function in advancing native priorities, from expert coaching alternatives to main neighborhood infrastructure tasks, and look ahead to our continued partnerships that result in a greater high quality of life within the North.”

The NOHFC fosters financial progress, job creation and workforce improvement all through the North, benefiting communities of all sizes, each rural and concrete, together with Indigenous communities. The $30 million funding improve will deliver the NOHFC’s annual price range to $110 million starting in 2025-26, enabling the company to assist extra tasks throughout Northern Ontario and to handle the impacts of inflation.

Increasing the NOHFC’s programming eligibility will assist understand priorities within the authorities’s “Building a Better Ontario” plan of attracting higher jobs with greater pay cheques, protecting prices down for households and companies, and investing in key infrastructure.
