ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from the 22 Division Felony Investigation Bureau (CIB) have arrested and charged six people in a theft investigation in Brampton.
In December 2024, investigators grew to become conscious of a major enhance in theft of butter and ghee from grocery shops within the Area of Peel, with losses of over $60,000 in stolen property. This is a rise of almost 135 per cent in comparison with 2023 and there have been over 180 related incidents reported to Peel Regional Police.
Undertaking Flaherty was established to focus on and fight the rise in butter and ghee thefts. Because of this, three people have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime:
Vishavjeet Singh, a 22-year-old man of no mounted deal with
Sukmander Singh, a 23-year-old man from Brampton
Dalwal Sidhu, a 28-year-old man from Brampton
As well as, three people have been arrested and charged with theft below $5,000:
Navdeep Chaudhary, a 22-year-old man from Brampton
Kamaldeep Singh, a 38-year-old man of no mounted deal with
Harkerat Singh, a 25-year-old man of no mounted deal with
The six people will seem on the Ontario Courtroom of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
