Ron handed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, on the age of 71, along with his household by his facet, after a short battle with mind most cancers. Loving husband of 39 years to Mary Ellig (Puhl). Devoted father to Sean Ellig (Amanda) and Jen Drouillard (Mark). Adored grandpa to Carter Ellig, Quinn Ellig and Bailey Drouillard. He may also be fondly remembered by Mark’s daughters Hannah Drouillard, Calista Drouillard and Ava Drouillard. 

Predeceased by his mother and father Leonard (1987) and Nancy (2014). Survived by his twin brother Don (Brenda, 2015) and sister Patricia Tousignant (Edward, 2022). Ron can be survived by his brother-in-law John Puhl (Rose) and Peter Puhl (Dana). Predeceased by 3 of his nephews; Scott Tousignant (1972), Gregg Tousignant (2020) and Anthony Puhl (2024). Survived by his nieces and nephews Todd Tousignant (Cyndi), Brenda Ellig, Vanessa Puhl, Amy Puhl (Kyle) and Laura Puhl (Darren).  

Ron was a faithful household man. His youngsters and grandchildren have been his pleasure and pleasure. It was uncommon that he missed a sporting occasion, live performance or recital if his children or grandkids have been concerned. From being a chaperone on Sean’s grade 8 commencement journey and training Sean in flooring hockey, to all of Jen’s soccer, basketball and volleyball video games into her College profession, Ron was at all times there to assist his youngsters. When Carter and Quinn began enjoying soccer, you can catch him on the soccer fields on the sidelines cheering them on with pleasure. It’s a disgrace that he received’t get to be that cheerleader for Bailey’s future occasions. Ron lit up on the sight of his grandchildren and it breaks our hearts that he received’t get to see them develop up. 

Ron retired from Chysler after 31 years. Upon retirement, Ron beloved to journey with Mary, significantly on cruises with their pals Doris & Daryl Weaver. Ron might be missed by his “Tim Hortons buddies” with whom he would generally go to twice per day. Ron was identified for his present of gab, and will speak to anyone who would pay attention. Above all, Ron was identified for his generosity in the direction of his family and friends. At any hour of the day, he would drop what he was doing for a pal or a member of the family in want. Ron was the dad who at all times picked Sean and Jen and their pals up at 2 within the morning after an evening out, simply to ensure everyone obtained dwelling safely. A McDonald’s strawberry milkshake and a thank-you was all he ever wished in return. 

A particular thanks to the entire employees and volunteers at Hospice of Windsor; in addition to the entire PSWs and nurses that helped take care of Ron throughout his sickness.

Visitation for Ron might be held on Thursday January 2 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Windsor Chapel Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. Funeral mass will happen at 10:30am on Friday January 3 at St. John Vianney Church with one hour of visitation previous to the mass. Cremation to comply with. For those who so want, donations to Hospice of Windsor, The Canadian Most cancers Society or Diabetes Affiliation can be vastly appreciated.
