Fourth suspect arrested in high-profile Ontario abduction

Brampton resident arrested this week in relation to 2022 kidnapping of Elnaz Hajtamiri in Wasaga Seaside

A fourth individual has been charged in an investigation into the kidnapping of Elnaz Hajtamiri.

At about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2022, Hajtamiri, who was 37 on the time, was kidnapped from a residence on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Seaside by individuals posing as law enforcement officials, sporting pretend police gear.

On Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police arrested Adams Suleman Ankamah, 29, of Brampton, and laid the next charges: kidnapping, possession of a firearm or ammunition opposite to a prohibition order, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited machine or ammunition, data of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused is being held in custody and has a June 1 courtroom date in Barrie.

An impressive arrest warrant has been issued for Deshawn Davis, 35, of Toronto.

“Police also are looking to identify and speak to the individual(s) who rented vehicles in December 2021. This individual, or individuals, are not suspects, but may have information related to this case,” OPP mentioned in a information launch. Police ask anybody with details about their whereabouts to name OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or the tip line at 1-833-728-3415.

There have been a number of arrests in reference to Hajtamiri’s abduction case. Police arrested Dominique Ewan, 35, of Etobicoke on April 3, and that Ewan is charged with kidnapping, fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. 

Police additionally reported on March 17, 2023, they’d arrested Krystal P. Lawrence on March 16 and charged her with kidnapping. She was launched with circumstances and ordered to look in courtroom to face the costs. 

Previous to being kidnapped, on Dec. 20, 2021, Hajtamiri was attacked and struck with a frying pan in her underground parking storage on King William Crescent, close to Yonge Avenue and Bantry Avenue.
