OSHAWA, ONT. – The Ontario authorities has introduced that GIP Paving Inc. has been awarded the contract to switch the Oshawa Wilson Street overpass, a precursor to widening Freeway 401 within the space.
Development on the overpass begins this summer season. The undertaking consists of the set up of taller mild poles, upgrades to the prevailing noise barrier and new pedestrian sidewalks, said a launch.
Along with the Wilson Street overpass, the province can also be changing the Simcoe Road and Albert Road underpasses in Oshawa and rehabilitating two over-water bridges between Bowmanville and Clarington, in addition to the overpass on the Freeway 35/115 interchange west of Bowmanville and the Westney Street overpass on Freeway 401 in Ajax.
Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria commented, “As Durham’s population grows, our government will continue to stand up for drivers by investing in the roads and bridges needed to tackle gridlock and shorten commute times for everyone.”
The jap hall of Freeway 401 accommodates 120,000 automobiles and 10,000 vehicles carrying $380 million in items daily.
