Ontario Provincial Police say investigative genetic family tree has helped them establish a person whose physique was discovered close to Windsor, Ont., greater than 21 years in the past.
They are saying the physique was recovered from Detroit River’s Livingstone Channel simply west of Amherstburg, Ont., in Might 2003, and eventually recognized as 48-year-old Detroit resident James Raymond Stewart.
Police say a number of failed makes an attempt had been made to establish the stays over time.
The person’s DNA was submitted for genetic family tree testing in February 2023 to find out his id.
OPP say a member of the family’s DNA was used to verify that the person was Stewart, who went lacking in November 2002.
Police say the reason for loss of life was undetermined however foul play was not suspected.
