Emergency personnel rushed to Gardner Elementary Faculty in Waterloo at about 9:30 a.m. Friday after 10-11 college students have been reported to have fainted and felt sick throughout a play observe inside the college situated off Fourth Road.
All college students and employees have been evacuated from the constructing as Waterloo Hearth Division and Metropolis of Waterloo utility personnel labored inside to find out if there was some form of gasoline leak or different scenario to restore.
Different responding businesses included the Waterloo Police Division, Monroe County Sheriff’s Division, Monroe County EMS and Columbia Hearth Division.
“All college students are secure, whereas just a few are being monitored by EMS,” Waterloo Superintendent of Faculties Brian Charron said in an electronic mail notification to folks.
At about 10:50 a.m., the college district despatched out a notification that the college obtained an “all clear” from emergency personnel to renew courses as regular for the day.
“Strictly out of precaution, just a few emergency personnel could have periodic presence for the rest of the day,” the district notification said.
