Ontario’s police watchdog has closed its probe right into a deadly January crash on the QEW that claimed the lifetime of a 25-year-old man.

The incident concerned a pickup truck that attempted to flee from two Halton regional cops throughout a site visitors cease Jan. 29 round 3:30 a.m. close to the Fort Erie-bound QEW at Guelph Line.

The SIU investigation revealed the pickup had been stopped after allegedly doing 150 kilometres per hour on the roadway headed westbound close to Burloak Drive.

Earlier than officers approached the truck, the report says the automobile accelerated away at “high speed” from the 2 police cruisers, later shedding management on the off-ramp.

In accordance with the SIU, a 25-year-old male passenger died because of the collision.
