The province’s police watchdog says the mother and father of a three-month-old toddler survived the deadly crash that killed their son and his grandparents throughout a wrong-way multi-vehicle crash in Whitby.
The Particular Investigations Unit says 5 folks have been in a Nissan Sentra that was struck by a cargo van being pursued by Durham police going the other way within the eastbound lanes of Freeway 401 on Monday night time.
In accordance with the SIU, a 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman who have been each visiting from India have been killed within the crash together with the toddler. The 33-year-old father and 27-year-old mom from Ajax each survived the crash and have been taken to hospital for therapy.
The SIU says the driving force of the cargo van, a 21-year-old man, was pronounced lifeless on the scene whereas his 38-year-old passenger was taken to hospital affected by severe accidents. The pair reportedly fled the scene of a theft at an LCBO in Clarington when an off-duty officer who was on the retailer known as within the theft.
