In July of 2024, detectives with 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) with the Niagara Regional Police Service, started a firearm investigation within the Metropolis of St. Catharines.
Because of the investigation, detectives recognized two male suspects and on July 4, 2024, detectives obtained Judicial Authorization to look a residence within the space of Ontario Avenue and Welland Avenue within the Metropolis of St. Catharines.
Through the search, detectives situated and seized the next:
A .22 Caliber German Sports activities Gun Pistol.
An unloaded Taurus G2C 9mm pistol
Journal for the Taurus 9mm pistol, loaded with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition
Michael Mills(43 years previous) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the next offences:
Assault with a weapon
Use of Firearm throughout Fee of an Offence
Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, or Ammunition
Carrying Hid Weapon
Possess Firearm with out Holding a Licence
Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly not holding a Licence
Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in Motor Car
Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
Possession of a Firearm understanding Serial Quantity has been Tampered with
Possess of Firearm Weapon or Ammunition Opposite to Prohibition Order
Mills was held in custody pending a bail listening to that was anticipated to happen on July 3, 2024 on the Robert S.Ok. Welch Courthouse, situated at 59 Church Avenue within the Metropolis of St. Catharines.
William Austin (36 years previous) of St. Catharines was arrested and charged with the next offences:
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm with out holding a Licence
Possess Restricted or Prohibited Firearm knowingly not holding a Licence
Possession of a Firearm understanding serial quantity has been Tampered with
Possess Unloaded Regulated Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Gadget or Ammunition
Possess Prohibited/Restricted Weapon or Prohibited Gadget Knowingly not holding a Licence
Austin was held in custody pending a bail listening to that was anticipated to happen on July 5, 2024 on the Robert S.Ok. Welch Courthouse, situated at 59 Church Avenue within the Metropolis of St. Catharines.
