Police say carjacking occurred at a residence within the space of Yonge Avenue and Edgar Avenue.

York Regional Police have charged three males with carjacking in Richmond Hill.

On Nov. 7 at about 1:30 a.m. three suspects arrived in a gray Acura RDX, with one of many suspects remaining within the car because the others confronted the sufferer and demanded the keys to his Mercedes G-Wagon and cellphone, police mentioned.

Provinical Carjacking Job Power and York Regional Police recognized Thomas Apostolopoulos, 19, of Toronto, Moti Ahmed, 21, of Vaughan, and Andrew Tyler Marin, 22, of Vaughan, because the suspects and have charged them with theft, disguise with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Police have moreover charged Apostolopoulos with harmful operation and flight from police officer.

The sufferer was not significantly injured through the incident and police have recovered his stolen car.

“On account of the rising incidents of violence associated to auto crimes throughout the GTA, native police companies have mixed sources and established a Provincial Carjacking Joint Job Power to additional co-ordinate regulation enforcement efforts in combating these crimes,” a York Regional Police information launch mentioned. “This collaborative method goals to disrupt the networks chargeable for violent and high-risk auto thefts and maximize enforcement efforts towards felony organizations.”

Co-led by the Toronto Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police, the duty pressure is a collaboration between police companies from throughout the GTA, together with York Regional Police, Halton Regional Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, Peel Regional Police, and different exterior businesses, together with Felony Intelligence Service of Ontario.
