It’s with heavy hearts that we, her household, announce the passing of Lorraine Treasa (Doucette) Cyr, age 92, of Westville. On November 11, 2024, Lorraine crossed over peacefully, in unity with the Holy Spirit, surrounded by her loving household.
Born on Could 08, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Catherine Doucette. She was blessed to be raised in a big, caring household that instilled inside her an appreciation for, and love of God, household, neighborhood, and kindness.
Lorraine married the love of her life and finest good friend, Raymond, on March thirtieth, 1964. They settled in Westville to lift their two kids, Janice and Ray Paul.
A resident of Westville for many of her life, Lorraine’s first job was at Eaton’s on Primary Road. After that, she was employed by Sears, labored part-time whereas being a full-time mother, and stayed with Sears till she retired. She made deep connections together with her co-workers and held these friendships expensive even after retirement. Lorraine is survived by her son: Raymond Paul (Marla), Fort Myers, FL; her son-in-law: Donnie Dooley; her grandchildren: Lucas Dooley (Katie), Grand Prairie, AB; Jessica Dooley, Trenton; Renée Cyr, Sarasota, FL; and Marc Cyr, Port Orange, FL; her brothers: Robert Doucette (Sharon), Fredericton, NB; and Michael Doucette (Carol), Truro; her sister: Carolyn Cameron (Dana), Westville; her sisters-in-law: Doreen Slaunewhite (Jim), and Irene MacDonald, each of Halifax; and Janet Doucette, Westville; her brother-in-law: David Eagles, Westville; her particular nephew: Kevin Doucette (Anita), Halifax; and plenty of nieces, nephews, cousins, and associates.
In addition to her mother and father, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband: Raymond; her daughter: Janice Dooley; her sisters: Helen Doucette, Dorothy Doucette, and Sylvia Eagles; her brothers: Fred Doucette and Ed Doucette; and her sister-in-law: Ann Doucette.
Visitation will probably be held from 3-5pm on Friday November fifteenth within the Eagles Funeral House, Westville. Funeral Service will happen on Saturday November sixteenth at 11am in The Holy Identify Roman Catholic Church, Westville, with Fr. Peter MacDonald Presiding.
