On Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, a 29-year-old male driver in Oakville was allegedly stopped twice by police for extreme dashing, reaching speeds as much as 158 km per hour – 58 km/h over the velocity restrict.
At roughly 3 p.m., officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Freeway Security Division allegedly clocked a driver travelling at 158 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Freeway 403 westbound close to Dundas Avenue in Oakville.
Based on a publish on X (previously Twitter), when the motive force was stopped, he suggested officers he had been charged half an hour earlier for going 95 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
Police say the motive force was charged with stunt driving, given a 30-day license suspension, and could have his automobile impounded for 14 days.
