The Waterloo Regional Police Service says it’s investigating reviews of an offensive flag at a Kitchener, Ont. residence.
Whereas they didn’t specify what was on it, images shared with present a Nazi navy flag flying outdoors a house on Stirling Avenue South.
In a media launch, police acknowledged: “While individuals have the right to freedom of expression under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, offensive expression, rooted in hate, has no place in Waterloo Region.”
They added that members of their Fairness, Range and Inclusion Unit spoke with these in the neighborhood who’ve been affected by the flag.
