The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled Johnsonville brand smoked beef sausages and smoked beef cheddar cheese sausages due incorrect best-before dates.
The products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec.
Metro confirmed the sausages were sold at Metro and Food Basics stores in Ontario.
The CFIA recall notice issued on Nov. 1 lists this particular recall as a “Class III.”
According to the CFIA, a Class III recall means “there is a low risk that consuming the food may result in any undesirable health problems.”
The CFIA says this class also includes food that do not pose a health risk, but that do not comply with legislation.
