A recent report from Uber reveals that Ontario has the best city for partying in Canada, and surprisingly, it’s not Toronto.
On Wednesday, Oct. 28, the ridesharing company released its fifth annual Nightlife Index, which shows that London, Ontario, is the top party city in the country.
This isn’t too surprising considering the city has a large student population, but to beat out Toronto-which has nearly ten times more people-is quite an achievement.
This is the fourth time London has claimed first place after being briefly overtaken by Toronto in 2024.
Interestingly, Toronto didn’t even make it into the top three cities for partying. Winnipeg came in second place while Lethbridge, Alberta grabbed third.
Toronto found itself in fifth place, nestled between Kitchener-Waterloo at fourth and Halifax at sixth. Having lived in both Halifax and Toronto myself, I’d say those rankings should be flipped.
The list was compiled using anonymized data from Uber and Uber Eats based on late-night rides and food orders-so maybe I stand corrected after all.
The study also highlighted that New Year’s Eve, Halloween Night, and Halloween Weekend are the biggest holidays for partying (not surprising), with Canadians staying out latest on Halloween.
If you’re wondering about hangover remedies, Canadians have been ordering plenty of those as well. The favorite? Good old hot coffee followed closely by hash browns, breakfast wraps, bagels, and iced coffee.
Here’s to another great year of celebrations across Canada!
