It’s with tremendously heavy hearts that we announce Bob’s passing on November 7, 2024 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph in his 84th 12 months.
Predeceased by his beloved spouse of 46 years Elaine (nee Billings) (2015). Survived by his adoring daughter Andrea, loving son Brent (Erin) and grandchildren Liam and Sarah Pole, who have been the apples of his eye. Additionally survived by his sisters Shirley McKerrall and Audrey Newell, brother-in-law Ralph (Chick) Billings, and sisters-in-law Susan Kargus and Barbara Billings. Bob will likely be significantly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews, pals and neighbours.
Born in Glencoe, Ontario, Bob’s early ardour and prowess for hockey led to a profitable stint with the Chatham Maroons, adopted by a chance to play for the Guelph Regals. It’s right here the place he met Guelph native Elaine, the love of his life, and the town turned dwelling. At all times searching for alternatives to offer again, Bob coached inside the Guelph Minor Hockey Affiliation for over twenty years, and volunteered with numerous different organizations, together with Motion Learn, Homewood Well being, and the Alzheimer Society of Guelph. His best pleasure, although, was time spent with household and pals, sharing tales, laughter, and a glass of wine.
