The Municipal Election is just a day away, and the City of Windsor wants to remind everyone that polling places are open from 10 a. m. to 8 p. m. throughout the city and all of Ontario.
In Windsor, voters can choose any location in their ward to cast their ballot. You can find these locations on the city’s website.
For those in other areas like Leamington, Kingsville, Amherstburg, Lakeshore, and Essex, polling stations are available as well. La Salle will be voting online, while Tecumseh is using phone voting.
If you haven’t received your Voter Notification Card yet, don’t worry! You can still vote by bringing a piece of government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, health card, or passport.
A complete list of accepted identification at polling places can be found here. The rules are consistent across all municipalities.
If there’s any incorrect information on your Voter Notification Card, bring it with you to the polling place along with acceptable ID. They’ll fix the details there; new cards won’t be issued but you’ll still be able to vote.
If you’re unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, you can designate someone else to vote for you. Proxy forms are available at the Office of the City Clerk located at 350 City Hall Square West, Suite 530. You can also reach them by calling 519-255-6100 ext. 6285.
Eligible voters can catch a ride to their polling station using Transit Windsor buses-just let the bus driver know you’re heading out to vote!
