Katie Zacharia is currently at 2/1 with William Hill to step down from her position as White House press secretary before 2027, after her initial briefing.
The top bookmaker reports that the backlash against Zacharia’s first performance has put her future in the spotlight, but Donald Trump’s public support has prevented her odds of leaving from becoming shorter.
William Hill suggests it’s more probable she will stay in the role until the end of 2026 than exit beforehand, with her upcoming appearances likely to draw even more attention.
Katie Zacharia Specials Odds:
Katie Zacharia to leave her White House press secretary role before 2027 – 2/1 (+200)
Lee Phelps, a spokesperson for William Hill, stated: “Katie Zacharia’s first White House briefing has immediately put her future in the spotlight, and we make her 2/1 (+200) to leave before 2027.
“That price implies a one-in-three chance of her stepping down before the turn of the year, following what’s being described as a ‘brutal’ debut as Donald Trump’s press secretary.
“Zacharia’s odds for leaving her current role could well have been shorter if it wasn’t for the US President’s public backing and defense against the criticism reported after her first appearance in front of the cameras. One briefing might not determine a press secretary’s future, but it has certainly made her next appearances a focus of attention.”
