Cavan, ON – The 33rd annual Autumn Colours Classic kept its Thanksgiving weekend tradition alive from October 9-11 at Peterborough Speedway. The event featured exciting races like the Electric City 167 pro late model race, OSCAAR Hot Rods and Modifieds, Outlaw Midgets, and the Ontario Legend Car Series.
This year’s races showcased some drivers maintaining their winning streaks while others claimed victories and championships that had been a long time coming. Fans witnessed intense battles and thrilling moments, including on-track payback and a spare tire unexpectedly rolling out of a bone stock’s trunk during a crash. Some familiar faces took to different rides, with Shawn Chenoweth racing in a Legend Car, Lane Zardo in a Bone Stock car, and Danny Benedict making his comeback to the track with a Hot Rod.
Though rain threatened to disrupt Sunday’s events, it held off until later in the day. Overall, it was yet another unforgettable weekend for Ontario’s biggest stock car racing celebration.
Below are the results from the feature podiums along with Inside Track interviews from the Autumn Colours Classic. Please note that some results are provisional.
Electric City 167
The 167-lap pro late model main event kicked off Sunday’s lineup at Peterborough. This year’s track champion Dan Mc Hattie led for much of the first half before slipping to second place after the competition caution for pit stops at Lap 100. Jake Sheridan’s car picked up speed in the latter half after he held onto second place early on. Sheridan and Mc Hattie collided during a late restart just before another caution for debris. After pitting, Mc Hattie lost his front-row spot but managed to recover to finish sixth.
Sheridan took home the victory, extending his impressive run in pro late models. He won not only the Electric City 167 but also last year’s Frostoberfest feature and NTN BCA Triple Crown over two years while adding this year’s titles from Delaware Speedway and Flamboro Speedway’s Grisdale Showdown Series as well as APC Series championship and Great Canadian 300 win.

Podium: 1) Mike Bradley, 2) Rob Mc Call, 3) Robin Mc Lean
Ontario Legend Car Series
This season wasn’t kind to the Ontario Legend Car Series due to four consecutive rainouts earlier in summer including a doubleheader on August long weekend at Sauble Speedway. Unfortunately for them that bad luck continued at Peterborough when predicted rain finally hit during their feature race resulting in multiple delays which ultimately shortened their planned 40-lap event down to just 26 laps that included caution flag laps.
Matt Haufe achieved his first Legend Car win of this year along with fourth overall at Autumn Colours while Adam Cuthbertson secured a championship title after more than fifteen years away from winning any titles prior!
