Update: Highway 7 between Mountain Grove Road and County Road 41 reopened around 9:30 p. m. Monday, according to a social media post by Ontario Provincial Police.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) report that one person has died and two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in the Township of Central Frontenac on Monday.
The accident occurred around 2:45 p. m. near Arden Road, according to the OPP.
The driver of one vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Innisfil, Ont., was pronounced dead at the scene, as stated in a release by OPP.
Authorities mentioned that the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Highway 7 was closed in both directions between Mountain Grove Road and County Road 41 in Kaladar. The OPP advises motorists to find alternate routes and said it will provide updates on the road closure through social media.
