Marion Loretta Cyr, age 88, of Westville handed away on August 31, 2024 within the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Cottie) McLaughlin.
Marion has been a resident of Westville most of her life. She cherished time spent with household, cherished to go on highway journeys with anybody that was travelling for a household gathering or only a drive. Mother’s fast wit, humorousness and straightforward going method have been loved by all she got here in touch with.
She cherished her kids with all her coronary heart and thought she had the most effective children. She was affectionately referred to as Gramma Cyr or Momma by not solely her kids and grandkids, however by neighborhood children or her kids’s associates. Over time she loved weekly card video games together with her sister-in-law Margie, fishing adventures together with her brother Bobby, and was aggressive at a recreation of washers even in her eighties. She was the final surviving member of her fast household.
She is survived by her kids Brian (Kathy), West River; Heather Halliday (Kevin), Foxbrook Rd.; Kenneth (Shelley), Plymouth; Allan (Sharon), Hopewell; Murdock (Lori), Westville; Steve (Mariann), Churchville; Debbie (Brian) Barnes, Saltsprings; Marion “Mimi” Cyr (Darren), East Stewiake; Pam Cyr, Foxbrook Rd.; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren ; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jenny McLaughlin, Pictou; many nieces and nephews; particular associates Evelyn and Kenny Fraser; chosen daughter Donna MacDermid.
She was predeceased by a daughter Catherine in infancy; grandson Jeffrey Cyr; sisters Dorothy and Emily; brothers Bobby, Bernie, Joseph and her former husband Sonny Cyr.
Visitation will probably be held on Tuesday, September 3 from 6-9 pm in Eagles Funeral Dwelling, Westville. Funeral service will probably be held at 11 am on Wednesday Sept., 4 in Eagles Funeral Dwelling Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Cremation will comply with the service. Burial will happen within the MacLeod Cemetery Foxbrook Rd. at a later date.
The household wish to thank the workers of the Palliative Care Unit on the Aberdeen Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion for Mother and her household. A particular thank-you to Mother’s private caregivers Karen, Rebe and Jackie.
