The latest Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) Board of Directors features strong local representation.
This week at the AMO Conference in Ottawa, the election for the 2026-28 term took place, with six officials from our region being elected to the board.
Deputy Mayor of Grey Highlands Dane Nielsen, Brockton Councillor Steve Trevale, and Mapleton Councillor Amanda Reid were chosen as Rural Caucus Officials.
Additionally, Grey County Councillor Barbara Dobreen, Huron County CAO Meighan Wark, and Wellington County Councillor Diane Ballantyne were all re-elected as County Caucus Officials.
AMO’s governing body consists of 47 elected and non-elected members.
AMO is a non-profit organization that represents 444 municipalities throughout Ontario. Its aim is to amplify their collective voice and ensure that cities, towns, rural areas, and northern municipalities have a say in provincial and federal decision-making.
“Long-term, sustainable provincial funding is needed to ensure municipalities can continue to deliver the infrastructure and services Ontarians rely on,” said Brockington.
The 2026 AMO Conference wraps up on Wednesday.
