Ottawa’s Mayor is confident that he will persuade the Ontario government to honor its commitment to cover costs and take responsibility for Ottawa’s LRT. This was part of Mark Sutcliffe’s promise during his re-election campaign, where he also pledged to lower the price of adult monthly transit passes by over $40 – a change that could be partially funded by shifting some costs to Queen’s Park. In a recent appearance on CFRA’s Ottawa Now with Kristy Cameron, Sutcliffe expressed his belief that reducing the cost of a standard pass would encourage more drivers to make the switch.
