As mentioned earlier, the crash happened at the intersection of Brock and Victoria Streets around 9:40 a. m. on Saturday, Jun. 27, 2026. The only vehicles involved were a Kingston Police cruiser and a civilian car, both of which suffered significant damage.

Kingston Police are refraining from commenting on this incident since the SIU’s investigation is still underway.

The SIU is an independent body that looks into incidents in Ontario where law enforcement officers are involved and there are serious injuries, fatalities, claims of sexual assault, or gunfire. The SIU confirmed they began investigating this case on Monday, Jun. 29, 2026, stating that the driver of the civilian vehicle sustained “a serious, non-life-threatening injury.”

On Tuesday, Jun. 30, 2026, the SIU released a statement asking for anyone who might have seen the collision to come forward.

“The province’s Special Investigations Unit is seeking anyone who may have witnessed a collision involving a Kingston Police cruiser that resulted in the serious injury of a 70-year-old woman on Saturday morning,” the SIU stated.

According to their report, a Kingston Police officer responding to a call in an official cruiser collided with a Subaru civilian vehicle “in the area of Brock and Victoria streets.”

“The driver and passenger in the Subaru as well as the officer were taken to hospital,” expanded upon previous information shared by the SIU.

“The driver of the Subaru was diagnosed with a serious, non-life-threatening injury… No other injuries were reported.”

The SIU noted that three investigators along with one collision reconstruction specialist are working on this case and mentioned that “one subject official has been designated at this time.”

A subject official refers to any law enforcement officer involved in an incident currently being examined by the SIU. Anyone who has information about this collision or any relevant photos or videos is encouraged to reach out to the SIU at 1-800-787-8529 or visit siu. on where they can fill out an online witness form.
